Screen time recommendations for young children
What it is
Screen time for children younger than 2 years is not recommended. For children 2 to 5 years, regular screen time should be less than 1 hour per day.
Screen time is also part of the lifestyle treatment of hypertension in children, where the advice is a healthy diet, such as the DASH diet rich in fruits, vegetables and low-fat dairy; reduced salt intake, under 3 g/day; regular physical activity, at least 60 minutes a day; and limit screen time and sugary drinks.
