Stages of the grief cycle
What it is
The grief cycle is adapted from Stages of Dying by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, and it runs in five stages: 1) denial, 2) anger and isolation, 3) depression, 4) bargaining, 5) acceptance.
Alongside each stage the cycle names what the person needs from those around them: information and communication early on, then emotional support, then guidance and direction as they move to acceptance.
