Foreign body aspiration in a toddler
What it is
Foreign body aspiration gives a sudden onset of difficulty of breathing in a previously well child.
How it presents
An 18 months old, previously well, is brought with sudden onset of difficulty of breathing, with no fever, no cough and no coryza symptoms. What points to it is that he was eating carrot with his sister before the symptoms. O/E there is a one sided wheeze, here a right side wheeze.
