Buckle (torus) fracture
What it is
A buckle or torus fracture is an incomplete fracture along the shaft of a long bone in which the cortex bulges instead of being broken through.
How it presents
A young child falls, during football or other play, and complains that the wrist hurts. The next day the arm is still not being used, and the child who refuses to use the arm is often what brings him to the office rather than the pain itself.
