Right bundle branch block

What it is

Right bundle branch block is one of the two bundle branch (lateral) blocks. It is present when the right bundle-branch is unable to conduct impulses to the right ventricle. The left bundle-branch therefore depolarizes the left ventricle first, then the impulse travels on to the right ventricle and causes it to depolarize. The ventricles depolarize consecutively rather than simultaneously.

In left bundle branch block the left bundle-branch is unable to conduct impulses to the left ventricle. The right bundle-branch depolarizes the right ventricle first, then the impulse travels to the left ventricle and causes it to depolarize, and again the ventricles depolarize consecutively rather than simultaneously.
